Monthly Roasts Change Frequently Asked Questions

Our attempt to anticipate and answer all your burning coffee questions.

Why the change?

Why are you moving from weekly to monthly roasts?

Great question.  A couple of things pushed us here. Our go-to delivery driver is packing up for college this fall, and on top of that, fuel costs have been climbing. Put those together and it made sense to rethink how coffee actually gets to your door and the cleanest fix turned out to be roasting less often, in bigger batches, rather than every single week.

Your coffee is still roasted fresh, right before it ships just on a different clock than you’re used to.

Does this mean the coffee will be less fresh?

Nope. “Fresh” doesn’t mean “roasted five minutes ago” it means roasted recently and stored right. Coffee holds its flavor for up to 4 weeks after roasting, as long as it’s sealed up and out of the sun. You’ll get the same just-roasted coffee you always have, you’ll just be picking it up once a month instead of once a week.

The new schedule

What are the new roast dates?

Here’s the lineup through early 2027. Our Last weekly roast weekend is 8/29-8/31/2026 “Order Cut off Date” is your cutoff to be included in that roast. “Ship Date” is when your coffee heads out the door through the mail or local delivery.

Order Cut off DateShip Date
9/18/20269/21/2026
10/16/202610/19/2026
11/13/202611/16/2026
12/4/202612/7/2026
12/18/202612/21/2026
1/15/20271/18/2027

Why aren’t the roasts exactly a month apart every time?

Sharp eyes. Most of these are about 4 weeks apart, but there are two in December. We threw in an extra roast so you can make sure you have what you need for the holidays. We built the schedule around real life, not a perfectly even calendar.

When do I need to order by to catch a given roast?

Order by 11: 59 PM of the “Order Cut Off” date and you’re in. Order after it, and your coffee rolls to the next roast date instead you won’t miss out, it’ll just ship on the next round.

What happens if I order after the cutoff?

Nothing dramatic your order just automatically lands in the next roast batch. We’ll roast it fresh and get it out on that ship date.

Autoship

I’m on Autoship do I need to do anything?

Good news we’re handling this one together. We’ll be moving all existing Autoship dates to line up with the new monthly roast window automatically, your job is to make sure you have the amount and variety you want. My Account → Autoship Schedules. We will make sure that all active autoships are set to run the week before roast. We will NOT adjust quantity or unpause any paused ship dates. If you want to skip your autoship for that month but you don’t want to pause it just set your next order to run after the upcoming roast. You can still pause and delete and push ahead your autoships like before. Just be aware that if you skip or pause it will be another several weeks before we roast again. See the Coffee math section below for help on how much that should be.

What if I want to order a different coffee that month, or need extra for guests/vacation?

Same as before place a separate one-time order alongside your Autoship rather than changing your regular order. No delivery fee for local folks, and it keeps your standing order simple.

How much coffee should I order for a month?

You knew this was coming the Big E Fun Math is back, now scaled up from a week to a month.

Quick refresher on our math: a full pot a day, every day, runs about 1.5 bags a week. Stretch that out to a full month (roughly 4 weeks between roasts) and you land at:

One full pot a day → about 6 bags a month

If your house is more like ours 1 to 2 pots a day, Beard-sized appetite included you’re closer to 2.5 bags a week, which works out to:

1–2 pots a day → about 10 bags a month

And for the grab-and-go crowd just a single 16 oz travel mug once a day, no pot involved:

One 16 oz travel mug a day → about 1.5–2 bags a month

(Roughly a quarter of a pot’s worth of grounds a day it adds up slower than you’d think, but a month is a long stretch to run dry, so round up to 2 bags if you’re the “never without coffee” type.)

None of this is an exact science; it depends on how strong you brew and how big your “pot” actually is and how often you drink coffee at home. But it’s a real starting point, and it beats guessing. When in doubt, order a little more than the math says. Running out before the next roast date is worse than having a couple extra bags on the shelf. What if I run out before my next roast date?

Let us know if you’ve got a coffee emergency, we’ll do what we can to help you out, same as always.

What if I ordered too much how do I store a month’s worth?

Keep it sealed, away from light and heat, and you’re set for a full month, no problem. (If you’re stocking up even further than that, freezing is fair game see our freezer post for the how-to.)
